A HOME INVENTORY IDEA

Find the soap without the rummaging.

Stowthistle is being designed to give everyday essentials a remembered room, cupboard, bin or shelf.

Voice, photos and NFC are part of the plan.

A SMALL HOME MAP

From put away to found.

Keep the room and storage spot with the thing you will need again. The idea is simple: remember a little now, rummage less later.

Three stages: everyday items go away, their storage details are collected, then a saved location is found.

  1. 01Before

The item is put away. The cupboard slips your mind.

Soap and spare floor mats disappear into storage. When you need them, the search starts room by room.
  2. 02As you put it away

One note keeps the item and its place together.

Voice, item photos and NFC tags are planned to make a room and cupboard easier to record and recognise.
  3. 03When you need it

Ask for the soap. Go straight to its saved spot.

A search should lead from the item name to a room, then the cupboard, bin or shelf where it belongs.

A FAMILIAR STARTING POINT

Every room has its own little hiding places.

A saved place can be as familiar as the room you are standing in.

PLANNED FOR STOWTHISTLE

Room first. Then the exact shelf.

A household map should be easy to add to and just as easy to use again. These are the ways Stowthistle is planned to keep a place attached to each item.

VOICE NOTE“New soap, bedroom, cupboard 1.”A place to look later

Say where it went.

Save a spoken note like “new soap in bedroom, cupboard 1” while you are putting things away.
